Beyond boundaries, beyond borders. BEYOND looks to the future of experimental practice in regional settings and builds bridges for artists to move from practice and potential to presentation.

Through reciprocal programs of exchange, residency, and presentation, as a cohort of regional partners we will grow safe creative spaces that provide a combination of research, development, and presentation opportunities for artists working regionally.

Our long-term view is to extend presentation potential and instigate responsible mobility through:

  • seeding, testing, and exchanging ideas while leading and learning
  • strengthening interprofessional and community relationships
  • offering employment
  • generating year-round creative vigour and adventure in our communities.

Through BEYOND, we seek to build mobility anew for regional artists and recalibrate new work production in regional contexts. While delivering greater regional interconnectedness and creative opportunity responsibly across borders, it creates a renewed fabric of place. It provides for regionally based safe spaces of risk taking and renewal.

Through Punctum’s arts-led leadership in collaboration with its local government alliances, it brings together four further regional creative partners renowned for their practice philosophy – each with local focus and all with national reach:

Together, we understand how taking time, delving deeply, working collaboratively, and doing things differently can build a vigorous, diverse creative ecology. Uniting us is our generosity and ‘radical hospitality’ which, through each partner’s mindful approach to creative practice, residencies, and links with local festivals, supports extending creative boundaries and shapes the ground for sustainable, regional production partnerships across borders.

Each partner’s connection to their local context ensures a rare, shared quality of dialogue, exchange, and producer support for artists and communities. It activates relationships, resources and artistic adventure embedded in local places that inspire and inhabit our imaginations.
