On Residence with Dancehouse is among several Punctum responses to our local and global post pandemic collective experience. It is also informed by the climate emergency setting in which we all live and work, where connecting and forming stronger networks and deeper relationships is essential.

This paid opportunity is flexible and adaptable. It moves with artists, their project, and partner’s specific contexts to support the research and development of practice and new dance works

With the ability to expand in the future, Dancehouse and Punctum offer On Residence as a key pathway for artists to develop work and/ or establish relationships and connections to communities, practices and partners. The program draws on Punctum’s experience cultivating similar meaningful, long term alliances.

The PunctumXDancehouse On Residence opportunity is for regionally-based artists undertaking experiments that connect with one or many layers of place.

This On Residence opportunity offers 4-weeks over two parts:

Part 1 in 2024, is hosted by Punctum in association with Bendigo Venues and Events;
Part 2 in 2025 is hosted by Dancehouse (the dates of Part 2 are negotiable).

On Residence Part 1 and Part 2 each culminate in the On Residence artist/s offering a public presentation of aspects of their experiment.
